Nelson Island is a remote and rugged island located off the western coast of Alaska. It is part of the Bethel Census Area and is approximately 90 miles southwest of the city of Bethel. The island is approximately 45 miles long and 20 miles wide, with a total land area of around 1,220 square miles.
